Blower speed on a Bubble Massage bath can be changed by using the keypad's up and down buttons. If the blower speed does not change, please refer to the information below.
Ensure that your Bubble Massage bath is a Kohler product. Refer to "Identifying Your Bath or Whirlpool Model " to locate the model number of your bath.
Ensure that you are pressing the "ON" button and not the "purge button." Pushing the purge button will cause the system to start but not adjust.
Kohler designed the Bubble Massage to ensure that air flows across the entire bath, even at the lowest setting, lowest available voltage (107 Volts) and with the deepest bath available. That condition limits the range of our blower speed.
In smaller bathrooms or in environments where tiles or solid surface materials are used, the noise generated by a Bubble Massage is louder than a whirlpool unit. In these environments, it becomes difficult to notice the change in the speed of the blower.
How to Identify the Issue:
1
Fill bath up to the overflow.
2
Start the Bubble Massage.
3
Open the access panel.
4
While listening to the blower (may require assistance from a second person), press and hold the "Low Speed" button on the keypad.
5
Notice that the blower, not the bubbles, is making less noise.
6
With the bath filled to the overflow, a decrease in bubble intensity should be noticeable.
Recommended Action:
In most cases, the blower is operating correctly. Sending a new blower, controller or keypad will not resolve the issue. Instead, it may belay the resolution or incur additional cost from unnecessary repairs.
Use a multi-meter to measure amperage variation while pressing the low/high speed buttons.
Kohler products require either 110V or 220V. Numerous occurrences have been documented in which the wrong voltage was supplied, causing issues with product performance.
How to Identify the Issue:
1
Locate the label new the blower motor.
2
Identify the model number and required electrical rating.
If rating is 110V, plug a standard electric appliance, like a lamp or hair dryer, into the outlet to confirm that there is power.
If rating is 220V, use a voltmeter to measure the supply voltage for your product.
Recommended Action:
If the current supply voltage is not compatible with the bath, contact a licensed electrician to install the correct voltage.
