Correct Bath Clicker Drain Not Clicking or Sealing

If your bath clicker drain is not clicking or sealing properly, refer to the following troubleshooting information.

Stopper Adjustment

Start with the stopper on the clicker mechanism and make sure it is tightened down all the way. The photo shows the threads from the clicker assembly.

The photo shows the stopper correctly tightened down all the way.

Threading Adjustment

The bottom part of the clicker assembly may also be adjusted. This will increase the number of threads revealed. You can raise this portion by holding the top part of the stopper, then rotating the bottom part. This will allow the clicker to go further down.

In certain instances you may need to hold the thread itself to prevent it from spinning as you rotate the piece. The photo shows a thread or two exposed.

The photo shows a little over three threads exposed. Rotating this piece also controls the total travel of the click mechanism so it will close more or less based on the amount of threads exposed.

Gasket Adjustment

The gasket located under the stopper may also need to be adjusted. The photo shows the gasket pushed out of position. The clicker may have been over tightened causing the gasket to push outward.

The photo shows the gasket seated correctly between the clicker assembly and the stopper.
