Refer to the instructions below for removal and replacement of the full turn and quarter turn valvets.
Note: Now discontinued and replaced by GP330002 and GP330004 (directions below).
1.
Turn off the water supply.
2.
Open the valve to relieve pressure and to drain the faucet.
3.
Remove the faucet handle.
4.
Loosen and remove the bonnet from the faucet body. The stem o-ring and/or washer may remain within the recess in the bonnet. Remove the washer and the stem o-ring and discard.
5.
Lift out the stem sub-assembly from the faucet body. The plunger with the seat washer attached will remain assembled to the threaded portion of the stem. The sleeve sub-assembly will remain within the faucet body.
6.
Lift out the sleeve sub-assembly and discard.
7.
Replace the bonnet o-ring with one of the two large o-rings. Discard the unused o-ring.
8.
Place your current handle and bonnet assembly onto the stem assembly to make sure that the stem and plunger threads are the same as on the parts removed. Your handle should turn on and off in the same direction as the old parts. If they are the same, discard old parts.
1.
Assemble all new valvet parts before inserting into the faucet body as follows:
2.
Line up bosses on the plunger with grooves in the sleeve and insert stem assembly into the sleeve.
Place the bonnet over the splined end of the stem. Move the bonnet toward the sleeve until the o-ring is fully engaged in the bonnet and the bonnet is tight against the sleeve.
1.
Insert the entire valvet assembly into the faucet body.
2.
Grip the splined end of the stem to prevent it from turning, and turn the bonnet into the faucet body.
3.
Reinstall the handle.
4.
Turn the handle to the off position.
5.
Turn on the water supply.
6.
Open the valve unit to full open and then close again. If the handle does not stop in either direction, the bonnet has not been properly tightened. Open the valve, remove the handle, and retighten the bonnet. Replace the handle.
