I have a problem with Pressure Assist Toilets
NOTE: There are three methods to clearing a clogged urinal. Begin with method one and proceed through the next as needed.
Use Plug Buster from www.neutralcleaner.com.
NOTICE: Using mineral acids like muriatic, sulfuric, phosphoric, and others is not recommended.
If a KOHLER waterless urinal ball is in use, remove it. If other debris is present, remove that as well.
Using a small screwdriver or a bent wire, carefully lift the drain strainer vertically from the drain. Clean the drain strainer and set aside.
Add KOHLER approved acid cleaner formulated for waterless urinals directly into the urinal drain per manufacturer instructions. Allow the acid treatment to stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Do not allow the urinal to overflow or spill acid cleaner onto any surface.
Quickly pour 1 gallon (3.8 liters) of water directly into the drain. Do not let the urinal overflow. This will purge the residual acid treatment.
If the urinal fails to drain properly, repeat the acid treatment step or proceed directly to the mechanical methods.
Once some flow is restored to the urinal, add KOHLER approved organism-based activated trap cleaner to the urinal per manufacturer instructions. If possible, allow the trap cleaner to remain in the urinal for 72 hours.
Quickly pour 1 gallon (3.8 liters) of water directly into the drain. Do not let the urinal overflow.
Pour 3 oz (90 ml) or approximately 1/3 cup of * KOHLER sealing liquid directly into the drain opening.
Reinstall the drain strainer.
Place one KOHLER waterless urinal ball on top of the drain strainer.
⚡IMPORTANT!⚡ Do not place a waterless urinal ball into an open drain, underneath the drain strainer, or without the drain strainer properly in place.
If this approach does not resolve the issue, proceed to the next method by clicking "Problem is still there".
If a KOHLER waterless urinal ball is in use, remove it. If other debris is present, remove that as well.
Using a small screwdriver or a bent wire, carefully lift the drain strainer vertically from the drain. Clean the drain strainer and set aside.
Pour as much water into the urinal as possible. Do not let the urinal overflow.
Use a plunger to gently agitate the urinal to remove any debris in the trap/line.
Pour 2 gallons (7.5 liters) of water directly into the drain as quickly as possible. Do not let the urinal overflow. If the urinal fails to drain, proceed directly to removing the urinal from the wall.
Once urinal flow is adequate, pour 3 oz (90 ml) or approximately 1/3 cup of KOHLER sealing liquid directly into the drain opening.
Reinstall the drain strainer.
Place one KOHLER waterless urinal ball on top of the drain strainer.
⚡IMPORTANT!⚡ Do not place a waterless urinal ball into an open drain, underneath the drain strainer, or without the drain strainer properly in place.
NOTE: It is difficult to use a snake tool with waterless urinals due to the trapway angle. However, it may be possible to use a snake that has a flexible end.
If this approach does not work, proceed to the next method.
If a KOHLER waterless urinal ball is in use, remove it. If other debris is present, remove that as well.
Using a small screwdriver or a bent wire, carefully lift the drain strainer vertically from the drain. Clean the drain strainer and set aside.
Flush the urinal as much as possible. Do not let the urinal overflow.
Remove the urinal from the wall per installation instructions. Set the urinal on a soft surface to prevent damage to the vitreous china.
Remove visible blockages from the urinal and wall connections.
Visually inspect that all sealing surfaces are clean and that the gasket is still in good condition. If not, replace the gasket with a new one.
Reinstall the urinal per installation instructions.
Pour 2 gallons (7.5 liters) of water directly into the drain as quickly as possible. Do not let the urinal overflow. Normal flow should be restored.
⚡IMPORTANT!⚡ Avoid allowing large chunks of hard sediment from going down the line during cleanout as they may cause an obstruction in the downstream plumbing. Slow flow or plugging of a urinal after it has been removed from the wall, cleaned, and reinstalled may indicate plugging further down the sewer line.
